Guidance & Steadfastness5
Ihdinaṣ-ṣirāṭal-mustaqīm. Ṣirāṭal-ladhīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ghayril-maghḍūbi ʿalayhim wa laḍ-ḍāllīn.
Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favour, not of those who have earned Your anger, nor of those who are astray.
Recited in every unit of every prayer. Allah says: 'I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant in two halves, and My servant shall have what he asks for.' (Sahih Muslim 395)
[ Surah Al-Faatiha 1:6-7 ]
Rabbanā lā tuzigh qulūbanā baʿda idh hadaytanā wa hab lanā min ladunka raḥmah, innaka Antal-Wahhāb.
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:8 ]
Rabbanā ātinā min ladunka raḥmatan wa hayyi' lanā min amrinā rashadā.
Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and prepare for us right guidance in our affair.
Said by The People of the Cave
[ Surah Al-Kahf 18:10 ]
ʿAsā Rabbī an yahdiyanī sawā'as-sabīl.
Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Qasas 28:22 ]
Allāhumma Fāṭiras-samāwāti wal-arḍ, ʿĀlimal-ghaybi wash-shahādah, Anta taḥkumu bayna ʿibādika fī mā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn.
O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between Your servants concerning that over which they used to differ.
The Prophet ﷺ opened his night prayer with these words. (Sahih Muslim 770)

Knowledge & Wisdom5
Subḥānaka lā ʿilma lanā illā mā ʿallamtanā, innaka Antal-ʿAlīmul-Ḥakīm.
Exalted are You. We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise.
Said by The angels
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:32 ]
Rabbi arinī kayfa tuḥyil-mawtā.
My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:260 ]
Rabbish-raḥ lī ṣadrī, wa yassir lī amrī, waḥlul ʿuqdatan min lisānī, yafqahū qawlī.
My Lord, expand for me my breast, ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Taa-Haa 20:25-28 ]
Rabbi zidnī ʿilmā.
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
[ Surah Taa-Haa 20:114 ]
Rabbi hab lī ḥukman wa alḥiqnī biṣ-ṣāliḥīn. Wajʿal lī lisāna ṣidqin fil-ākhirīn. Wajʿalnī min warathati jannatin-naʿīm.
My Lord, grant me sound judgement and join me with the righteous. And grant me an honourable mention among later generations. And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.

Provision & Sustenance5
Rabbij-ʿal hādhā baladan āminan warzuq ahlahu minath-thamarāt.
My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:126 ]
Allāhumma Mālikal-mulki tu'til-mulka man tashā'u wa tanziʿul-mulka mimman tashā', wa tuʿizzu man tashā'u wa tudhillu man tashā'. Biyadikal-khayr, innaka ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr. Tūlijul-layla fin-nahāri wa tūlijun-nahāra fil-layl, wa tukhrijul-ḥayya minal-mayyiti wa tukhrijul-mayyita minal-ḥayy, wa tarzuqu man tashā'u bighayri ḥisāb.
O Allah, Owner of all sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honour whom You will and humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. You cause the night to enter the day and the day to enter the night, You bring the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living, and You provide for whom You will without measure.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:26-27 ]
Allāhumma Rabbanā anzil ʿalaynā mā'idatan minas-samā'i takūnu lanā ʿīdan li'awwalinā wa ākhirinā wa āyatan mink, warzuqnā wa Anta khayrur-rāziqīn.
O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table spread from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us, and a sign from You. And provide for us, for You are the best of providers.
Said by Prophet ʿIsa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Maaida 5:114 ]
Rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīr.
My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Qasas 28:24 ]
Rabbighfir lī wa hab lī mulkan lā yanbaghī li'aḥadin min baʿdī, innaka Antal-Wahhāb.
My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower.
Said by Prophet Sulayman ﷺ

Acceptance of Deeds2
Rabbanā taqabbal minnā, innaka Antas-Samīʿul-ʿAlīm.
Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
Said by Prophets Ibrahim and Ismaʿil ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:127 ]
Rabbij-ʿalnī muqīmaṣ-ṣalāti wa min dhurriyyatī, Rabbanā wa taqabbal duʿā'.
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants as well. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Ibrahim 14:40 ]
Family & Offspring9
Rabbanā wajʿalnā muslimayni laka wa min dhurriyyatinā ummatan muslimatan lak, wa arinā manāsikanā wa tub ʿalaynā, innaka Antat-Tawwābur-Raḥīm.
Our Lord, make us both submissive to You, and from our descendants a nation submissive to You. Show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
Said by Prophets Ibrahim and Ismaʿil ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:128 ]
Rabbi innī nadhartu laka mā fī baṭnī muḥarraran fataqabbal minnī, innaka Antas-Samīʿul-ʿAlīm.
My Lord, I have pledged to You what is in my womb, dedicated to Your service, so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
Said by The wife of ʿImran
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:35 ]
Rabbi hab lī min ladunka dhurriyyatan ṭayyibah, innaka Samīʿud-duʿā'.
My Lord, grant me from Yourself good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.
Said by Prophet Zakariyya ﷺ
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:38 ]
Rabbij-ʿal hādhal-balada āminan wajnubnī wa baniyya an naʿbudal-aṣnām.
My Lord, make this city secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Ibrahim 14:35 ]
Rabbi innī wahanal-ʿaẓmu minnī washtaʿalar-ra'su shayban wa lam akun biduʿā'ika Rabbi shaqiyyā. Wa innī khiftul-mawāliya min warā'ī wa kānatimra'atī ʿāqiran fahab lī min ladunka waliyyā. Yarithunī wa yarithu min āli Yaʿqūb, wajʿalhu Rabbi raḍiyyā.
My Lord, my bones have weakened and my head has filled with white hair, and never have I been unanswered in my supplication to You, my Lord. And I fear my relatives after me, and my wife is barren, so grant me from Yourself an heir who will inherit from me and inherit from the family of Yaʿqub. And make him, my Lord, pleasing to You.
Said by Prophet Zakariyya ﷺ
[ Surah Maryam 19:4-6 ]
Rabbi lā tadharnī fardan wa Anta khayrul-wārithīn.
My Lord, do not leave me alone, and You are the best of inheritors.
Said by Prophet Zakariyya ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:89 ]
Rabbanā hab lanā min azwājinā wa dhurriyyātinā qurrata aʿyunin wajʿalnā lil-muttaqīna imāmā.
Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us a leader for the righteous.
[ Surah Al-Furqaan 25:74 ]
Rabbi najjinī wa ahlī mimmā yaʿmalūn.
My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.
Said by Prophet Lut ﷺ
[ Surah Ash-Shu'araa 26:169 ]
Rabbi hab lī minaṣ-ṣāliḥīn.
My Lord, grant me a child from among the righteous.

[ Surah As-Saaffaat 37:100 ]
Faith & the Hereafter12
Rabbanā wabʿath fīhim rasūlan minhum yatlū ʿalayhim āyātika wa yuʿallimuhumul-Kitāba wal-ḥikmata wa yuzakkīhim, innaka Antal-ʿAzīzul-Ḥakīm.
Our Lord, send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:129 ]
Rabbanā innaka jāmiʿun-nāsi li-yawmin lā rayba fīh, innallāha lā yukhliful-mīʿād.
Our Lord, You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:9 ]
Rabbanā āmannā bimā anzalta wattabaʿnar-Rasūla faktubnā maʿash-shāhidīn.
Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and we have followed the Messenger, so record us among the witnesses.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:53 ]
Rabbanā mā khalaqta hādhā bāṭilan, Subḥānaka faqinā ʿadhāban-nār.
Our Lord, You did not create this without purpose. Exalted are You; protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:191 ]
Rabbanā innaka man tudkhilin-nāra faqad akhzaytah, wa mā liẓ-ẓālimīna min anṣār.
Our Lord, whoever You admit to the Fire You have disgraced, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:192 ]
Rabbanā wa ātinā mā waʿadtanā ʿalā rusulika wa lā tukhzinā yawmal-qiyāmah, innaka lā tukhliful-mīʿād.
Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in Your promise.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:194 ]
Rabbanā āmannā faktubnā maʿash-shāhidīn.
Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses.
[ Surah Al-Maaida 5:83 ]
Innī wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhī faṭaras-samāwāti wal-arḍa ḥanīfan wa mā anā minal-mushrikīn.
Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
The Prophet ﷺ opened his night prayer with these words. (Sahih Muslim 771)
[ Surah Al-An'aam 6:79 ]
Inna ṣalātī wa nusukī wa maḥyāya wa mamātī lillāhi Rabbil-ʿālamīn. Lā sharīka lahu wa bidhālika umirtu wa anā awwalul-muslimīn.
Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. This I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.
[ Surah Al-An'aam 6:162-163 ]
Rabbi qad ātaytanī minal-mulki wa ʿallamtanī min ta'wīlil-aḥādīth. Fāṭiras-samāwāti wal-arḍ, Anta waliyyī fid-dunyā wal-ākhirah, tawaffanī musliman wa alḥiqnī biṣ-ṣāliḥīn.
My Lord, You have given me sovereignty and taught me the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and the earth, You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.
Said by Prophet Yusuf ﷺ
[ Surah Yusuf 12:101 ]
Wa lā tukhzinī yawma yubʿathūn. Yawma lā yanfaʿu mālun wa lā banūn. Illā man atallāha biqalbin salīm.
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected, the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of benefit, except one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Ash-Shu'araa 26:87-89 ]
Rabbanā atmim lanā nūranā waghfir lanā, innaka ʿalā kulli shay'in Qadīr.
Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.
[ Surah At-Tahrim 66:8 ]
Distress & Hardship10
Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn.
Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.
Said upon any affliction. Whoever says it and then supplicates, 'O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it with something better', Allah replaces it with something better. (Sahih Muslim 918)
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:156 ]
Rabbanā akhrijnā min hādhihil-qaryatiẓ-ẓālimi ahluhā, wajʿal lanā min ladunka waliyyan wajʿal lanā min ladunka naṣīrā.
Our Lord, take us out of this town whose people are oppressors, and appoint for us from Yourself a protector, and appoint for us from Yourself a helper.
[ Surah An-Nisaa 4:75 ]
Rabbi innī lā amliku illā nafsī wa akhī, fafruq baynanā wa baynal-qawmil-fāsiqīn.
My Lord, I have power over none but myself and my brother, so separate us from the defiantly disobedient people.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Maaida 5:25 ]
Rabbanaftaḥ baynanā wa bayna qawminā bil-ḥaqqi wa Anta khayrul-fātiḥīn.
Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision.
Said by Prophet Shuʿayb ﷺ
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:89 ]
Innamā ashkū baththī wa ḥuznī ilallāh.
I only complain of my anguish and my grief to Allah.
Said by Prophet Yaʿqub ﷺ
[ Surah Yusuf 12:86 ]
Rabbanā innanā nakhāfu an yafruṭa ʿalaynā aw an yaṭghā.
Our Lord, we are afraid that he will hasten against us or that he will transgress.
Said by Prophets Musa and Harun ﷺ
[ Surah Taa-Haa 20:45 ]
Annī massaniyaḍ-ḍurru wa Anta arḥamur-rāḥimīn.
Adversity has truly touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.
Said by Prophet Ayyub ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:83 ]
Lā ilāha illā Anta, Subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn.
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
Said by Prophet Yunus ﷺ
The supplication of Dhun-Nun. No Muslim ever supplicates with it in any matter except that Allah answers him. (Jamiʿ at-Tirmidhi 3505)
[ Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:87 ]
Rabbiḥ-kum bil-ḥaqq, wa Rabbunar-Raḥmānul-mustaʿānu ʿalā mā taṣifūn.
My Lord, judge in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One whose help is sought against that which you describe.
[ Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:112 ]
Rabbanak-shif ʿannal-ʿadhāba innā mu'minūn.
Our Lord, remove from us the punishment; indeed, we are believers.
[ Surah Ad-Dukhaan 44:12 ]
Comprehensive & Everyday1
Rabbanā ātinā fid-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fil-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ʿadhāban-nār.
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:201 ]
Patience & Victory6
Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa thabbit aqdāmanā wanṣurnā ʿalal-qawmil-kāfirīn.
Our Lord, pour upon us patience, make our feet firm, and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:250 ]
Rabbanaghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa isrāfanā fī amrinā wa thabbit aqdāmanā wanṣurnā ʿalal-qawmil-kāfirīn.
Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, make our feet firm, and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:147 ]
Rabbanā afrigh ʿalaynā ṣabran wa tawaffanā muslimīn.
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims.
Said by The magicians of Pharaoh
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:126 ]
Rabbin-ṣurnī bimā kadhdhabūn.
My Lord, support me because they have denied me.
Said by Prophet Nuh ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:26 ]
Rabbin-ṣurnī ʿalal-qawmil-mufsidīn.
My Lord, support me against the corrupting people.
Said by Prophet Lut ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Ankaboot 29:30 ]
Annī maghlūbun fantaṣir.
I am overpowered, so help me.
Said by Prophet Nuh ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Qamar 54:10 ]
Forgiveness & Repentance15
Samiʿnā wa aṭaʿnā, ghufrānaka Rabbanā wa ilaykal-maṣīr.
We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final return.
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:285 ]
Rabbanā lā tu'ākhidhnā in nasīnā aw akhṭa'nā. Rabbanā wa lā taḥmil ʿalaynā iṣran kamā ḥamaltahu ʿalal-ladhīna min qablinā. Rabbanā wa lā tuḥammilnā mā lā ṭāqata lanā bih. Waʿfu ʿannā waghfir lanā warḥamnā, Anta Mawlānā fanṣurnā ʿalal-qawmil-kāfirīn.
Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with more than we have strength to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our Protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
To each request in this verse Allah answered: 'Yes.' (Sahih Muslim 126). Whoever recites the last two verses of al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him. (Sahih al-Bukhari 5009)
[ Surah Al-Baqara 2:286 ]
Rabbanā innanā āmannā faghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa qinā ʿadhāban-nār.
Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:16 ]
Rabbanā innanā samiʿnā munādiyan yunādī lil-īmāni an āminū bi-Rabbikum fa-āmannā. Rabbanā faghfir lanā dhunūbanā wa kaffir ʿannā sayyi'ātinā wa tawaffanā maʿal-abrār.
Our Lord, we heard a caller calling to faith: 'Believe in your Lord', and we believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins, remove from us our misdeeds, and cause us to die among the righteous.
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:193 ]
Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa in lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna minal-khāsirīn.
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
Said by Prophet Adam ﷺ and Hawwa
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:23 ]
Subḥānaka tubtu ilayka wa anā awwalul-mu'minīn.
Exalted are You. I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:143 ]
Rabbighfir lī wa li'akhī wa adkhilnā fī raḥmatik, wa Anta arḥamur-rāḥimīn.
My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:151 ]
Anta waliyyunā faghfir lanā warḥamnā wa Anta khayrul-ghāfirīn. Waktub lanā fī hādhihid-dunyā ḥasanatan wa fil-ākhirati innā hudnā ilayk.
You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of forgivers. And decree for us good in this world and in the Hereafter; indeed, we have turned to You.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:155-156 ]
Rabbi innī aʿūdhu bika an as'alaka mā laysa lī bihi ʿilm, wa illā taghfir lī wa tarḥamnī akun minal-khāsirīn.
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.
Said by Prophet Nuh ﷺ
[ Surah Hud 11:47 ]
Rabbanā āmannā faghfir lanā warḥamnā wa Anta khayrur-rāḥimīn.
Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:109 ]
Rabbighfir warḥam wa Anta khayrur-rāḥimīn.
My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful.
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:118 ]
Rabbi innī ẓalamtu nafsī faghfir lī.
My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Qasas 28:16 ]
Rabbanā wasiʿta kulla shay'in raḥmatan wa ʿilman faghfir lilladhīna tābū wattabaʿū sabīlaka wa qihim ʿadhābal-jaḥīm. Rabbanā wa adkhilhum jannāti ʿadninil-latī waʿadtahum wa man ṣalaḥa min ābā'ihim wa azwājihim wa dhurriyyātihim, innaka Antal-ʿAzīzul-Ḥakīm.
Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way, and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. Our Lord, and admit them to the gardens of perpetual residence which You promised them, and whoever was righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Said by The angels who bear the Throne
[ Surah Ghafir 40:7-8 ]
Rabbanaghfir lanā wa li'ikhwāninal-ladhīna sabaqūnā bil-īmāni wa lā tajʿal fī qulūbinā ghillan lilladhīna āmanū, Rabbanā innaka Ra'ūfun Raḥīm.
Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and put no resentment in our hearts toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.
[ Surah Al-Hashr 59:10 ]
Subḥāna Rabbinā innā kunnā ẓālimīn.
Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.
[ Surah Al-Qalam 68:29 ]
Trust in Allah4
Ḥasbunallāhu wa niʿmal-wakīl.
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
Said by Ibrahim ﷺ when he was cast into the fire, and by the Prophet ﷺ and his companions when they were warned that an army had gathered against them. (Sahih al-Bukhari 4563)
[ Surah Aal-i-Imraan 3:173 ]
Ḥasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā Huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-ʿArshil-ʿaẓīm.
Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
Whoever says it seven times morning and evening, Allah suffices him in whatever worries him. (Sunan Abi Dawud 5081)
[ Surah At-Tawba 9:129 ]
Wa ufawwiḍu amrī ilallāh, innallāha Baṣīrun bil-ʿibād.
And I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of His servants.
[ Surah Ghafir 40:44 ]
Rabbanā ʿalayka tawakkalnā wa ilayka anabnā wa ilaykal-maṣīr.
Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have turned, and to You is the final destination.
[ Surah Al-Mumtahana 60:4 ]
Protection & Refuge11
Rabbanā lā tajʿalnā maʿal-qawmiẓ-ẓālimīn.
Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people.
[ Surah Al-A'raaf 7:47 ]
Rabbanā lā tajʿalnā fitnatan lil-qawmiẓ-ẓālimīn. Wa najjinā biraḥmatika minal-qawmil-kāfirīn.
Our Lord, do not make us a trial for the wrongdoing people, and save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.
[ Surah Yunus 10:85-86 ]
Rabbis-sijnu aḥabbu ilayya mimmā yadʿūnanī ilayh, wa illā taṣrif ʿannī kaydahunna aṣbu ilayhinna wa akun minal-jāhilīn.
My Lord, prison is more beloved to me than that to which they invite me. And if You do not turn their plot away from me, I may incline toward them and become of the ignorant.
Said by Prophet Yusuf ﷺ
[ Surah Yusuf 12:33 ]
Rabbi immā turiyannī mā yūʿadūn. Rabbi falā tajʿalnī fil-qawmiẓ-ẓālimīn.
My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised, then, my Lord, do not place me among the wrongdoing people.
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:93-94 ]
Rabbi aʿūdhu bika min hamazātish-shayāṭīn. Wa aʿūdhu bika Rabbi an yaḥḍurūn.
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:97-98 ]
Rabbanaṣ-rif ʿannā ʿadhāba jahannam, inna ʿadhābahā kāna gharāmā. Innahā sā'at mustaqarran wa muqāmā.
Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever clinging; indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence.
[ Surah Al-Furqaan 25:65-66 ]
Rabbi najjinī minal-qawmiẓ-ẓālimīn.
My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.
Said by Prophet Musa ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Qasas 28:21 ]
Rabbanā lā tajʿalnā fitnatan lilladhīna kafarū waghfir lanā Rabbanā, innaka Antal-ʿAzīzul-Ḥakīm.
Our Lord, do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
[ Surah Al-Mumtahana 60:5 ]
Rabbib-ni lī ʿindaka baytan fil-jannati wa najjinī min Firʿawna wa ʿamalihi wa najjinī minal-qawmiẓ-ẓālimīn.
My Lord, build for me a house near You in Paradise, and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds, and save me from the wrongdoing people.
Said by Asiyah, the wife of Pharaoh

Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbil-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffāthāti fil-ʿuqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.

[ Surah Al-Falaq 113:1-5 ]
Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbin-nās. Malikin-nās. Ilāhin-nās. Min sharril-waswāsil-khannās. Alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūrin-nās. Minal-jinnati wan-nās.
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers in the breasts of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind.

Bismillāhi majrāhā wa mursāhā, inna Rabbī la-Ghafūrur-Raḥīm.
In the name of Allah is its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.
Said by Prophet Nuh ﷺ
[ Surah Hud 11:41 ]
Rabbi adkhilnī mudkhala ṣidqin wa akhrijnī mukhraja ṣidqin wajʿal lī min ladunka sulṭānan naṣīrā.
My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit, and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.
[ Surah Al-Israa 17:80 ]
Rabbi anzilnī munzalan mubārakan wa Anta khayrul-munzilīn.
My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate.
Said by Prophet Nuh ﷺ
[ Surah Al-Muminoon 23:29 ]
Subḥānal-ladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn. Wa innā ilā Rabbinā lamunqalibūn.
Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have otherwise subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will surely return.
Part of the Prophet's ﷺ supplication when mounting his riding animal. (Sahih Muslim 1342)

Rabbanaghfir lī wa liwālidayya wa lil-mu'minīna yawma yaqūmul-ḥisāb.
Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.
Said by Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ
[ Surah Ibrahim 14:41 ]
Rabbir-ḥamhumā kamā rabbayānī ṣaghīrā.
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.
[ Surah Al-Israa 17:24 ]
Rabbi awziʿnī an ashkura niʿmatakal-latī anʿamta ʿalayya wa ʿalā wālidayya wa an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa aṣliḥ lī fī dhurriyyatī, innī tubtu ilayka wa innī minal-muslimīn.
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to work righteousness of which You approve, and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.
[ Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:15 ]
Rabbighfir lī wa liwālidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu'minan wa lil-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināt, wa lā tazidiẓ-ẓālimīna illā tabārā.
My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer, and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in ruin.

Alḥamdu lillāhil-ladhī lam yattakhidh waladan wa lam yakun lahu sharīkun fil-mulki wa lam yakun lahu waliyyun minadh-dhull, wa kabbirhu takbīrā.
Praise be to Allah, who has not taken a son and has no partner in dominion and has no protector out of weakness. And glorify Him with all glorification.
[ Surah Al-Israa 17:111 ]
Mā shā'Allāh, lā quwwata illā billāh.
What Allah has willed! There is no power except with Allah.
Recommended when one sees something pleasing, as a safeguard against the evil eye.
[ Surah Al-Kahf 18:39 ]
Rabbi awziʿnī an ashkura niʿmatakal-latī anʿamta ʿalayya wa ʿalā wālidayya wa an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa adkhilnī biraḥmatika fī ʿibādikaṣ-ṣāliḥīn.
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants.

[ Surah An-Naml 27:19 ]
Hādhā min faḍli Rabbī liyabluwanī a-ashkuru am akfur.
This is from the favour of my Lord, to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful.
